Why Electrolytes Matter
Sodium
Helps regulate fluid balance and supports normal nerve and muscle function.
Potassium
Helps maintain fluid balance and supports normal nerve and muscle function.
Magnesium
Supports normal muscle and nerve function and contributes to many biochemical processes.
Calcium
Supports normal muscle function, nerve signaling, and bone health.
What Is Hydration?
Hydration is maintaining the right balance of water in your body. Water supports temperature regulation, nutrient transport, and normal cellular, nerve, and muscle function.
Your body constantly loses and replaces water. When losses increase, maintaining that balance becomes more important.

How Water Gets In
SGLT1 — Sodium–glucose cotransport
Water is absorbed through the intestine, where nutrients and electrolytes help drive its movement into the body.
One important pathway involves sodium and glucose being transported together through intestinal cells. Water follows the resulting movement of dissolved particles.
How We Develop Rheolyte
01 — Formulate
We establish target levels for electrolytes, carbohydrates, acids, flavour, and other functional components.
02 — Measure
Ingredients are weighed precisely and combined according to the development formula.
03 — Test
We evaluate the finished drink for taste, solubility, dilution, mouthfeel, and other relevant characteristics.
04 — Refine
We compare results, adjust the formulation, and repeat the process until the product reaches the desired balance.
Why Sodium Comes First
Sodium is the body’s primary extracellular electrolyte and plays a central role in maintaining fluid balance.
When you sweat, you lose both water and electrolytes, including sodium. Replacing them can become particularly relevant when fluid losses are significant.

What’s Inside Rheolyte?
Rheolyte brings together electrolytes, carbohydrates, acids, flavour, sweeteners, vitamins, and minerals in one carefully balanced formula. Each component is selected for a specific role in the finished drink.
Electrolytes
Sodium, potassium, magnesium, chloride and calcium help build the electrolyte foundation of the formula.
Carbohydrates
Sucrose provides carbohydrate while contributing to the drink’s sweetness and overall formulation.
Vitamins
9 Selected vitamins complement the formulation and provide nutritional value.
Minerals
Zinc, Selenium and Iron are incorporated at defined levels as part of the broader nutritional profile.
Flavour
Our flavour system creates the sensory profile that makes Rheolyte enjoyable to drink.
Sweeteners
Sweetening components help us reach the desired sweetness while balancing the flavour system.

Concentration Matters
Rheolyte is designed around a defined serving size and a defined volume of water. Our formulation targets approximately 500 mg sodium, 300 mg potassium, and 45 mg magnesium per serving, alongside 12 g of sucrose.
These numbers don’t exist independently. Together, they determine the drink’s electrolyte concentration, carbohydrate concentration, sweetness, acidity, taste, and overall drinking experience.
That’s why we test Rheolyte across different water volumes rather than assuming one dilution works equally well everywhere.
MORE THAN HYDRATION
Metabolic Support
B vitamins, magnesium and other micronutrients act as essential cofactors in the enzymatic reactions that keep normal metabolism running.
Energy & Alertness
Carbohydrates provide readily available fuel, while caffeine promotes alertness and B vitamins help support normal energy metabolism.
Muscle Function
Sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium help maintain the mineral gradients and cellular processes required for normal muscle function.
Nervous System
Electrolytes support nerve signaling, while magnesium and B vitamins contribute to normal nervous-system function and metabolism.
Skin & Hair
Biotin and zinc contribute to the maintenance of normal hair and skin hydration, while vitamin C supports normal collagen formation.
Immune Support
Vitamin C, zinc and selenium contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
Taste Is Science Too
For Rheolyte, hydration isn’t enough if people don’t enjoy drinking it.
Our formulation balances sweetness, acidity, flavour intensity, saltiness, cooling, and mouthfeel. For example, our current development target includes 12 g of sucrose per serving, while citric acid and malic acid are used to build the drink’s acidity profile.
We don’t evaluate these components separately. We test the finished drink to find the balance where hydration functionality and taste work together.

What We Measure
pH
We monitor acidity to help maintain the intended taste and formulation characteristics.
Solubility
We evaluate how readily the powder disperses and dissolves in water.
Concentration
We test different water volumes to understand how dilution changes the finished drink.
Taste
We evaluate sweetness, acidity, saltiness, flavour, mouthfeel, and aftertaste.
Stability
We assess how the product performs over time under defined storage conditions.
Consistency
We aim for the same formulation and sensory experience from batch to batch.

Science You Can Trust
At Rheolyte, formulation is only the beginning. We care about what goes into the product, how accurately it is measured, and whether the finished product consistently meets its intended specifications.
We work with defined ingredient specifications, precise measurement, documented formulations, and product testing to build consistency from development through production.
